Breast Reduction

Women with large, heavy breasts often suffer from chronic back and neck pain, skin irritation, indentations in their shoulders from bra straps, and difficulty performing athletic activities. A breast reduction can boost a woman’s confidence and improve her quality of life by removing excess breast tissue.*

The technique used will depend on the patient’s physical anatomy and the results she desires. It is recommended that this procedure is performed on breasts that are fully developed. The breast reduction, also known as a reduction mammaplasty will improve droopy breasts and make them more proportionate with the rest of the body.*

A breast reduction has three different incision placements, depending upon the extent of lift and reduction needed, the anchor incision, the keyhole incision or the periareolar incision. A breast reduction may also require repositioning the nipple and areola to a higher location upon breast reduction. These details will be laid out clearly during your personal consultation with Dr. Mendieta.*
