Non-Surgical Facelift Treatment
Facelift surgery is performed to address facial aging on the lower and middle portions of the face. A brow lift addresses forehead wrinkles and furrows between the brows. Neck lift surgery addresses visible aging on the neck. While these surgical procedures are great at treating age-related imperfections on specific facial features, there is not a single surgical procedure that can target all of these areas at once. This is where a non-surgical liquid facelift comes in. Unlike traditional surgery, a liquid facelift uses the injection of dermal fillers and other substances to address all areas of the face from the forehead to the neck. This non-surgical procedure offers complete facial rejuvenation with no downtime.
Candidates that are considering a liquid facelift tend to be in their twenties, thirties, and forties and are looking to combat the progression of aging. Candidates should be in good general health, have realistic expectations of their results, and be willing to undergo regular maintenance treatments. Ideal candidates are those that experience dissatisfaction due to:
- Wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth and lower face
- Hollowed or sunken cheeks
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s feet
- Thinning lips
- A tired and aged appearance
Liquid Facelift Procedure
The non-surgical liquid facelift is a procedure that addresses visible signs of aging across the face, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. The series of injections that will be used for your treatment will depend on your individual needs and degree of facial aging.
- BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neurotoxin injectable that reduces fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. This injectable is used to treat horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, crow’s feet, and lines around the mouth and neck.
- Sculptra® Aesthetic is synthetic material known as poly-L-lactic acid that restores lost collagen. Collagen is responsible for giving your face its fullness and supple, youthful quality. Sculptra® Aesthetic can be used to correct deep facial wrinkles and folds including marionette lines, smile lines, and chin wrinkles.
- Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid filler that targets wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth. This product has many variants including Restylane® Silk, which plumps lips and the area around the mouth, and Restylane® Lyft, which increases volume and firmness in the cheeks.
Since no incisions are made, no downtime is associated with a liquid facelift. These injections result in minimal bruising and swelling that resolves itself within three to five days. You may be asked in for a follow-up appointment within five to seven days.
The liquid facelift procedure is not surgical and involves no downtime. This includes no limitation when it comes to exercise routines. You can continue your regular activities immediately after treatment.
The results of your liquid facelift will become apparent within one month, though some formulations may begin to show results immediately following treatment. Unlike traditional cosmetic surgeries, a non-surgical liquid facelift will not be permanent. Traditionally, BOTOX® Cosmetic lasts between three and four months, Restylane® and other hyaluronic acid fillers last between nine months and one year, and Sculptra® Aesthetic can last up to two years. The longevity of these results will depend on the patient and how their body responds to the treatment. While not permanent, you can enjoy the rejuvenating effects for months on end, and repeat treatments as often as necessary.

How should I prepare for my liquid facelift?
To allow for the highest quality results paired with the highest level of safety, we recommend that you stop smoking at least four weeks before and after your treatment. We also require that you stop taking aspirin products, ibuprofen, and herbal supplements at least one week before your injections. You may still take Vitamin C and arnica/bromelain tablets as they will help minimize any post-injection bruising and swelling.
Will I need multiple sessions?
Most of these injections only require a single session to reach optimal results. A follow-up appointment is typically not necessary until you decide to touch up the procedure a few months down the line. Sculptra® Aesthetic often requires multiple sessions. Patients may need anywhere between one and four treatments, but three treatments are required on average.
What is the cost of a liquid facelift and how does this compare to traditional surgery?
The cost of your liquid facelift treatment will depend on the number and volume of injections you receive. During your consultation with Dr. Mendieta, you will be provided with an accurate cost estimate. Even with multiple injections, however, the cost of a liquid facelift will be less than its surgical counterpart. Surgery requires additional fees such as anesthesia, surgical, and facility fees, and the procedures themselves are more expensive.
