What are Butt Injections?
Patients who desire a more pleasing, curvaceous figure do not necessarily have to undergo surgery to achieve their goals. Butt augmentation is ideal for patients who want subtle improvement to their bottoms that they can enjoy immediately. Unlike butt augmentation using implants or fat grafting, butt injections enhance the posterior without any downtime or the need to go under general anesthesia. Dr. Mendieta performs butt injections using Sculptra® Aesthetic, which produces smooth, stunning contours by plumping the skin and stimulating collagen production.
Dr. Mendieta evaluates each patient’s body type and cosmetic desires to determine the best approach to achieve optimal results, and he customizes the procedure to meet their particular expectations. Ideal candidates for butt injections can relate to any of the following concerns:
- A shapeless bottom
- Unwanted cellulite
- Bothersome indentations on the butt
- No time for a lengthy recovery
Butt Injection Procedure
Sculptra® Aesthetic can add volume to a small or deflated butt, and it can fill in cellulite dimples as well. The procedure takes only 20 to 30 minutes to complete. First, a topical anesthetic is applied to the treatment area. Then, several vials of Sculptra® Aesthetic are injected into the buttocks in even layers.
Because this type of enhancement is tailored to each patient’s needs and goals, the number of butt injection sessions depends on a few factors. Some things to consider are the size of the buttocks before treatment and the extent of correction desired. Most patients require three injection appointments, which are spaced at least one month apart.
Dr. Mendieta has been featured on numerous domestic and international television programs and publications, as well as a frequent lecturer in various professional society meetings.
Butt injections is a minimally invasive procedure that requires little to no downtime. Butt injection patients are free to resume their normal activities as long as they feel comfortable. You can expect mild bruising and swelling for five to seven days, and you must avoid applying pressure to your buttocks for two to three weeks.
Although there is no downtime after butt injections, patients may experience some swelling and soreness for up to one week. You may want to refrain from strenuous activity until the discomfort subsides. Exercises that require sitting will have to be avoided for two to three weeks.
Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling after receiving butt injections, but these side effects dissipate within two to three weeks. The final outcome is visible once the residual swelling subsides. Results are immediately noticeable after the first session, but patients report the most pleasing effects after the second or third treatment. Butt injection results typically do not require touch-ups for as long as two years.
Butt Injections FAQs
What is the difference between a Brazilian Butt Lift and butt injections?
A Brazilian Butt Lift utilizes the patient’s own fat for large volume transfer, whereas a butt injection procedure uses a dermal filler called Sculptra® Aesthetic to enhance a patient’s behind. Patients who want to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift must have enough excess fat around the body to transfer to the buttocks, but slimmer patients can opt for butt injections or butt implants.
Does it hurt to get butt injections?
Every patient has a different pain tolerance, but generally, there is little to no discomfort associated with butt injections. A topical anesthetic is applied before treatment to ensure the process is pain-free, and any soreness during the first week of recovery can be alleviated with prescription pain medicine.
